Good deal on .223

If anyone is interested, I just wanted to give a heads up on a decent deal AIM Surplus has on .223 ammo.

Quote:

New Federal 5.56x15/.223 XM193AF ammunition. Features a 55grn full copper jacketed lead core bullet, brass case, and non-corrosive boxer primer. Packaged 10rds to a charger, 30rds (3 chargers) to a 30rd sleeve, and 900rds (30 sleeves) to a case. Magazine loading spoon included on full case orders only.
They are selling it for $345 + $.01 (basically free) shipping. This is a much better deal than what I have seen locally on Federal XM193, even without preloaded stripper clips.

I just ordered some and wanted to give anyone else that might be interested a heads up.

.38 per round is pretty good for 55 grain .223

Good price but shipping is rediculous! $60 to ship a case to me!

Yep, $60 to ship to me too. Methinks they're padding their prices with shipping costs...

But still even with that shipping it puts it at $0.367 a round. not terrible...just shady shipping practices. Would be good range ammo though, boat tail FMJ.

How is M193 as a purely range ammo? what is the accuracy like?

Ah, see for me thats a local purchase.

I paid tax of ~$30 but no shipping... Same cost in the store.

For those that dont know them, SGC is a very nice, very high end gun store / range in Scottsdale AZ. They cater to the spoiled rich kids in town.. I'd trust them for any mailorder your interested in, but obviously not if the S&H kills the price!

I now rescind my previous comment about them charging too much for shipping.

Either they put up a new page, or I missed it before, but they have fixed their $60 shipping error. They claim that purchasing 50 individual boxes cost higher shipping because it was in the system as a minimum #1 weight per box.

If you buy a whole case they charge you based on the actual weight, ~#31 lbs. and a shipping charge of only $31.94.

Is their 1000 round case page.

$305 + $32 = $337 or $0.337 cents / round. Good deal on FMJBT for the range...
